Mitchell’s team have been able to field a team each
week, despite injuries to 4 of his team. At full
strength they should move up the ladder with two matches
to play. Good work Captain Ryan.
MLTC have two teams in this division.
Team 3 captained by Craig Withell have performed very
consistently this season and are in second place. At
full strength they have an excellent chance of winning
their division. Team 4, Dave Sullivan’s warriors have
been plagued with injuries but are returning to full
strength for the next two matches. Dave has been a great
team captain and has brought up players from the lower
division to assist with injured players. Thanks go to
R.R. Hill, Paul Davies and Darren Good Giles for helping
Dave’s team avoid forfeits.
We have two teams in this division.
Scott Blackburn’s team is currently
placed 6th. Only two points separate teams 3-6. A good
performance on 16th June and 23 June will get
them into the semi-finals. Mike O’Connor’s team are
currently 4th and are also very keen to make
the semis. Again GO MANLY, GO MANLY.
Ben Vaughan’s team are placed 2nd
and are certain finalist. Great play team 7. Robin Koh
will finish his University study this year and will
return to his home in Singapore. Robin on behalf of all
the members thanks go to you for being a part of our
great Club. You have been instrumental in getting your
team into 2nd place. Team 7, let’s give Robin
a great send off by winning this division. Again GO
MANLY GO MANLY.
Manly team 8 under R.R. Hill’s
captaincy have been very unlucky not to win more
matches. Placed 5th, they will have to win
the next two matches to qualify for a semi-final
position. Robert, your team can do it. I know you can
“fire” them up. Again GO MANLY GO MANLY.
Team 9 has been our best performer
and are on top of the ladder with 77 points. They play
Western Suburbs and Cammeray next and will be Minor
Premiers. Congrats to captain Col Hamilton for a job
well done. We all look forward to seeing your photo on
the “Manly Wall of Fame.”
Teams 10 and 11 are at the bottom of
the ladder. “Could Have” and “Should Have” performed
better. Team 11 play Mosman (competition leaders) 16
June and have the bye 23 June. Team 10 have to play
Cheltenham on 16 June and Neutral Bay on 23 June. Team
11, Captain Ron Jeffs, (also Club Vice-president) and
team 10 captain Ray Kirby have agreed that team 11 will
finish ahead of team 10, which means that team 10 will
be the “woodenspooners.” However Captain Ron has agreed
to accept a challenge from team 10 for the wooden spoon
position. This match is to be played on a date to be
announced. Ray Dummett, I heard has started trembling
already. I don’t blame him.
MLTC entered a record number of 15
teams in the 2012 Autumn Badge Season. MLTC also
sponsored a Men’s and Ladies Premium team. 10 out the
15 teams could be semi-finalists.
Congratulations and good luck for the
rest of the season.

teams each week.
